RJD Accuses NDA Government of Corruption
Patna: May 24, 2008
In its relentless attempt to strengthen the party base and work towards the overall goal of wrestling power back from the NDA in Bihar, Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leaders launched a scathing attack on the Nitish government saying corruption was rampant in the administration and people were frustrated in the lack of any development in the state.
In a press conference in Patna on Saturday, RJD MP Ram Kripal Yadav, legislator Shyam Rajak, Vijay Krishna, and Ganesh Prasad accused the Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi saying the minorities in Bihar were denied houses under the Indira Awaas Yojana in a well-hatched conspiracy by the government that was clearly guided by a sinister agenda meant to harm the minority community.
"The state government were given over Rs. 26 crore to build more than 15,000 houses in Patna district alone. The Nitish government, however, built only 7,324 houses with none going to a member of the minority community. This was not coincidental but part of a well-orchestrated scheme to hurt the Muslims in Bihar," Yadav said.
"If such malpractices are taking place in Patna district, one could easily imagine what is happening in other districts," Rajak said.
