FIR Lodged against RJD MP over alleged Illegal Appointments

Patna: May 25, 2008

The Sachivalaya Police in Patna on Sunday lodged an FIR against the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) MP and former Chairman of Bihar Legislative Council Jabir Hussain in a case related to illegal appointment of class III and IV employees in the Council.

The case was instituted at the behest of the Patna High Court that is hearing a complaint earlier filed by one Raj Kumar Singh about the alleged illegal appointments, Sachivalaya DSP Sridhar Mandal said.

As reported, Hussain appointed 78 people closely related to him to various posts in the Legislative Council during his tenure as the Chairman of House. When Singh's complaints gained some political traction, all those appointed by Hussain were immediately removed, the complainant says.
