Photo by Anupam SinghChief Minister Nitish Kumar, at a press conference following his weekly Janata Durbar in Patna on Monday, lamented the Center's apathy towards Bihar saying he would soon meet with Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and apprise him of the discriminatory practices adopted by his cabinet in view of issues concerning the state.

"Bihar is once again on the brink of yet another flood but the Central government is yet to compensate the state that it had promised following the last year's devastation. We have sent all the reports that the UPA government had asked of us, held several talks with the concerned officials; yet there had been no cooperation from the Central government," Kumar said adding he would hold a talk with the Prime Minister later this week to voice his dissatisfaction.

Commenting on the Bhartiya Janata Party's success in the Karnataka polls, the Chief Minister said that it was clear from the results breakdown that the BJP would have fared even better had it gone along with the Janata Dal (U).
