Armed Robbery in Hotel in Patna; Police Refuses to Investigate

Patna: May 31, 2008

More than two dozen armed criminals under Kotwali police station in Patna on Saturday night forced their entries into the Hotel Delight located in Gurudwara Gali and robbed the patrons and hotel employees to the tune of several thousand rupees.

The criminals also beat up the hotel manager Pramod Kumar before taking over Rs. 6,000 from the cash box before chasing away all the hotel patrons and robbing them of their cash and belongings.

Interestingly, despite the hotel's close proximity to the Kotwali police station and a visit by the police to the hotel following the incident, officials refused to launch an investigation saying no complaint was filed by the hotel management, therefore not necessitating the need for an enquiry.
