Mundrika Prasad New Kotwali Police Station in-charge

Patna: May 31, 2008

Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Amit Kumar on Saturday ordered the transfer of Gandhi Maidan police station in-charge Mundrika Prasad to the Kotwali police station that had been without any chief since the removal of Abhay Narayan Singh a few days ago.

The reshuffle in the Patna police department also includes moving of Pirbahore police station in-charge Nissar Ahmed to Gandhi Maidan police station, Sachivalaya police station in-charge H. A. Hashmi to Pirbahore police station, and Naresh Sharma, formerly a member of the CID, to Sachivalaya police station.

Singh was removed from his post a few days ago after crime under the Kotwali police station kept rising with a number of cases of armed robberies, mugging, and break-ins.

His ouster prompted a protest among his supporters who demanded his reinstatement and blamed the administration for playing under-handed politics with him.
