Angry students of Patna College on Monday vandalized the college campus and university office after Vice Chancellor Shyam Lal failed to keep an appointment with them to discuss status on the resumption of BBA class that remain cancelled despite admission of 150 students in the curriculum.

Hundreds of students, including many girls, chanting anti-Vice Chancellor slogans, damaged properties at Patna College and the University office accusing him of 'playing games' with the future of hundreds of students.

The protestors then targeted the Pro Vice Chancellor S. I. Ehsan, who despite attempt to mollify the students, could not persuade them to call off their protest.

Authorities then called in police who resorted to lathi charge to disperse the mob.

Several students were hurt in the incident, reports said.

Ehsan said the meeting with the Vice Chancellor has been rescheduled for November 22 when a final decision would be taken regarding the future of 150 students already enrolled in the program.
