Eid in Patna. Photo by Shashi UttamChief Minister Nitish Kumar in Patna on Thursday sent his best wishes to all the Muslims in the state on the occasion of Eid and met with their religious leaders at the Gandhi Maidan where he prayed for communal harmony in Bihar.

"With your prayers, not only the prosperity would come to you and your families, it would also have positive impact on the state," the Chief Minister said.

Kumar also said he was saddened by the misery caused by this year's flood in north Bihar and he hoped the Muslims of Bihar, on the occasion of Eid, would pray for their speedy rehabilitation and return to normalcy in life even as the state government was fully committed to do everything in its might to ensure such catastrophe did not take place again in the state.

"Our culture is very strong and we have a long history of living in communal harmony. Even during the time of adversity, we have lived in perfect peace just as we have during Diwali, Dussehra, and Eid each year and this is what I wish on the occasion of Eid today," the Chief Minister said.
