PU Students Clash with Authorities over Rise in Admission Fee
Patna: Sept. 6, 2008
Dozens of students under the banner of All India Students Federation (AISF), angry over the rise in admission fee and alleged irregularities in the Patna University examination results, demonstrated outside the university building on Friday demanding to see the Vice Chancellor.
Seeing trouble brewing, university officials locked the main gate that further irked the students who clashed with the security guards and entered the building by breaking open the lock.
Chanting anti-VC slogans, the students accused the authorities of publishing exam results in haste and thus making it untrustworthy. They also demanded changing the exam dates for the Part I Honors and B.Ed and withdrawal of admission fee.
Situation was finally brought under control when they were allowed to meet with the VC and Registrar Vibhas Yadav who assured them of giving a fair consideration to their demands.
