Wow!!!
The first empathetic words on the
plight for the poor Mahto family
come from a Mr. Pandey! I thought
that the great pursuers of social
justice who raised such a ruckus
recently on the caste issue, would
have been the first on this! But
then, how could they? The
perpetrators are "Rai's" and the
victims were "Mahto's". So, is it
okay to keep quiet on a dastardly
crime like that? If the perpetrators
were Mishras or Sharmas or Pandeys,
then you should have seen the 'tandav'
of the bigoted bunch!
Also, No points to Mr. Pandey for
referring to the victims as his
"brothers and sisters"! Why do the
people who engage in casteist 'narebaazi',
not speak up on an issue like this
?! Where is their sentiment and 'bhaichara'?
Their silence on such and issue is
as ugly as their whiny/abusive
speech at other times.
I am curious to see what action
those hands, that went limp on the
Narendra Singh issue, will take on
this one - especially since this
type of crime has come to symbolize
Bihar internationally. - Aarcee -

I'm
an Italian writer based in Thailand
and I was deeply impressed by the
story of the poor family killed for
a buffalo. I fully appreciate your
comment and I would like to visit
Bihar and contact some of you. I
have never been in Bihar but I know
that is not all like this story
showing. I hope am not bothering you
with this request of meeting, but I
really appreciate any sign by your
side. - Raimondo Bultrini -

Hi
Raimondo, thanks for your comment
and feeling. I hope you are a
genuine writer who wants to know the
real evil and want to do something
to eradicate such rogue. I hope you
are not the kind of author who sells
poverty and evil as spice in western
countries . We have plenty of those
in India.
Now unfortunately most of the people
whose comments and story you read
are NRI (Non Resident Indians). So
to meet them you will have to go to
USA or UK or may be you can meet
some in Bangkok.
I am in USA please let me know if
you are coming this way. - Ravi

Mr.
Bultrini, If you want to visit Bihar
because some people killed a family
for a buffalo, then you are being
naive. Such dastardly acts are going
on everywhere in the world. This
pales in comparison to many other
ongoing conflicts that people like
you should be looking at. This is
merely an isolated criminal act.
I suggest you go to the occupied
territories (Gaza Strip & West Bank)
and see how brutal man is to man for
a sliver of land. Go see how deep
the hatred is and how involved the
rest of the world is in that
'pettiness'. After a life time at
each other's throats, the arch
enemies Arafat and Sharon (maybe)
are dead. Thousands have been killed
over the control of Jerusalem. Go
research why Homo Sapiens (man)
wears colors of religion to
annihilate one another.
Most Journalists go to Bihar, take
the worst pictures and publish it in
magazines that have an agenda to
portray India in a bad light. Before
you go to India, read Kevin Rushby's
novel "Children of Kali" and decide
if you are learned enough yet to be
able to understand what you will see
there. I can go to Italy and all
kinds of pasta will look the same to
me. So, give your impulsive decision
some thought. India can not be
examined by an outsider in a "two
week whirlwind tour". It requires
research, a will of iron and the
ability to mingle with the common
man in the sweltering heat of the
crowded cities and villages for
months on end to get anywhere near a
true understanding (if there is any)
of India. - Aarcee - Jan. 6, 2006 |
