In
this hour of shock and sadness I empathize with
the people of Malegaon (Maharashtra) and
congratulate them for making the evil design of
a few to create communal disharmony a complete
failure. Communal disharmony would have snatched
many more members from many more families making
the other family members embittered against the
other community and thus sympathetic to the
terrorists. That was the design but the people
of both communities have proven the terrorists
wrong. In fact, what the terrorists saw must
have shaken them to the core. They must have
seen all communities helping each other in this
period of agony and shock. Their evil designs
lie exposed. The Indian society has taken this
hard blow without getting divided. We are
witnessing a changing India with a society of
more mature citizens.

India's growing economic and
military clout is a cause of concern
to certain global interests. India
is too powerful today to be
challenged economically or
militarily in the normal way.
India's strength lies in the
diversity and religious tolerance of
its population fostered over a
thousand years of cultural and
religious synthesis. The unity of
India was once successfully broken
by a colonial power who ruled us for
a century. We have since liberated
ourselves from foreign rule,
re-united our people and moved
forward.
However those opposed to India's
emergence as a world power have not
given up. By disrupting the the very
foundation of India's progress the
perpetrators of these attacks hope
to reverse India's progress.
There is a foreign based diabolical
plot to disable the country with
internal conflict and strife.
Attacking religious places in a
country where religion is the
backbone of society is an obvious
attempt towards this objective. The
Malegaon blast is just one of the
many attempts. There was the blast
in Manipur at the Iskon temple, the
blasts in Varanasi Sankat Mochan
temple, the blast in Jama Masjid
Delhi, the blast in Delhi during
Dipawali, and of course the savage
blasts on the Mumbai commuter
trains.
While our security and intelligence
will do all they can to protect us
and hunt down those threatening our
way of life, it is up to the people
of India to remain united and thwart
the designs of those who wish to
break us apart.
The future of our nation is at stake
!
For the sake of our children let us
pledge to fight these foreign forces
unitedly.

I
hope with this unfortunate incident
those who have been associating
terrorism with Islam will take some
lesson and will stop maligning
Islam. Terrorism has no religion. A
bomb doesn't distinguish between
religions. It affects a certain area
not any particular community. Our
media has also changed their tone
completely this time. When Bombay
blast occurred indirectly references
were made to a certain community but
now same community is being
appreciated for maintaining calm and
tranquility.
We PD forum readers should also
learn some lesson out of it. Bombay
and Malegaon residents have lost
their relatives; still they are
maintaining peace. Here on PD Forum
one comment from Aarcee and we all
start criticizing him, one small
mistake from Rajesh ji and Anjum
will be after him. Is this the
proper way of discussion? Are we
acting sensibly? - Anjum Parwej - Sept. 9,
