The
It seems Mr Lalu Prasad Yadav at the Centre is
going to be quite an asset for the state. His
initiatives will have a long term beneficial
effect on the economy of the state. After all,
railway is the largest enterprise in India and
if he can make Bihar the hub of railway, he will
contribute a lot to revival of the state
economy. It seems Mr Prasad wields enough power
so as not to be questioned by any regional
interest active in union cabinet and can have
his ways.
He needs to be commended and congratulated for
his bold initiatives in ensuring that state gets
its dues. It seems for now that the state is
getting accustomed to the agenda of
developmental politics in contrast to what we
had seen in the 15 years of Mr Prasad's rule in
the state. Mr Prasad, Mr R P Singh and Mr Paswan
will certainly be a good help in Mr Nitish Kumar
and Mr Sushil Modi's endeavor to rebuild Bihar.
A competitive developmental politics will help
the state and will also help all these leaders
themselves in the longer run. With this stint at
centre, Mr Prasad will also emerge as an able
administrator for future.
State should applaud this welcome change while
demanding more from all these gentlemen. Other
ministers and bureaucrats at the centre should
also start helping the state in their own
capacity.
