I
am a proud Bihari and have immense love for my
region and my country India. I have been living
in UK for the last 25 years. I come from a
village near Chainpur in Siwan.
It is my pride and joy to see India in headline
news abroad regarding growth and development in
IT, Steel, Mobile Telecom sector as well as
seeing India being recognised as a super power
of the future.
However, when I compare the progress of Bihar in
terms of infrastructure (mainly road and
electricity network) against the rest of India,
I really get disheartened. I go to my home
village in Siwan every 2 years. The road between
Patna and Siwan is appalling. In particular the
road between Chhapra and Chainpur and between
Siwan and Chainpur is so badly damaged that my
children tell me that they would like to visit
rest of India but not Bihar.
Is there anything you can do to improve the road
infrastructure between Patna/Siwan, Chhapra/Chainpur
and Siwan/Chainpur? Due to the appalling road
condition I put off travelling to my village.
These days travel has become so easy. I can
catch a flight from London to Delhi and from
Delhi to Patna and arrive in Patna within 12
hours. However, the journey from Patna to
Chainpur takes 6-7 hours by road that should
take no more that 2 hours.
I would like to invest in Bihar but can only do
so if the road and electricity supply is vastly
improved.
I really hope that this letter reaches you and I
look forward to your acknowledgement.
Best regards
Syed Hussain

Dear Mr Hussain,
People like you who love their home
land and wish to visit where they
ONCE belonged would contribute in
building a world better for all.
Entire world and all of us on this
planet are same, but, we miss our
own mother and our own Janm Bhoomi.
I listen to a song from the film
Kabuliwala and get kind of very
emotional about my own home town in
Bihar :
Terey Daaman sey joe aaye , unn
hawaoe koe salaam,
Choom lue mai uss jubaan koe jis pay
aaye teraa naam.
Sub sey pyaree subah teree, sub sey
rangee teree shaam,
Tujh pay dil qurbaan.
