As I have had the honor to meet several of your hard working and highly dedicated IPS officers and local government officers assigned to your city and surrounding area, I have to say that such horrific events as the killing and kidnapping of children as reported in your paper dated Jan 12th must have had very significant impact on them.

Your citizens can at least be very proud of the fine work that they do on your behalf. I do hope that the justice system metes out the same punishment to the defendants that killed this young boy. I also extend my sincere prayers to the family of the young for their comfort in this trying time.

Hi Ronald,

Thanks for understanding the pressure upon our cops. We are determined to transform Bihar into Vihar [a place where one lives]. All it matters is the willingness to pay back to our mother land. - Satya - Jan. 13, 2007

The police community of Bihar is inferior to none. The moles were leading the state till 2005 end and this community was taking the hit of bad reputation. We must look at police departments of other states and analyze what Bihar Police is lacking overall. Just big shot talks is not going to work. Government needs to train them on a regular basis. The criminals are going high tech; so the law enforcement agency should be.

Unfortunately, it's not the case with Bihar police. They still use 'Angrezon Ke Jamane Ka Tamancha'. They must be armed with equal fire-power to take on any incident in state.

Also, the policemen should have all the benefits what other agencies are getting. They have got family to feed and kids to educate too. At the top of everything, they need much deserved respect. Let them perform without restriction for a while as Nitish and his team is doing and I am sure they would be able to crack any kind of criminal case.

Thanks to the Bihar Police; not just one city police. I think they are working together. - Naren Singh, India/USA - Jan. 18, 2007
