This
is not only the issue of highlighting this
matter to media to bring government into action,
it is also a matter of grave concern that
despite repeated mentioning by the President of
India for an Indian Institute of Science
Education and Research (IISER) in Bihar in the
joint session of the Assembly in Patna as well
as at the recently held Global Bihar Meet,
neither the Bihar government, nor any politician
from Bihar has come into action. The pity is
that they even don't know about IISER.
Though we (the BiharBrains team) have been
successful in talking with Deputy Chief Minister
just before the Global Meet, we do feel that
unless all sections of the society including the
educated class (Scientists/professors),
politicians, administrators, students raise this
issue to bring into notice of the Hon'ble Prime
Minister of India, it will be a futile attempt.
We should understand that Only IIT in Bihar will
not serve the purpose. The establishment of
IISER will help in creating research environment
in the state in the field of all streams of
sciences. This institute has great potential in
bringing research environment on track and also
this will be perhaps the first research
institute of its kind in the field of science
for the state of Bihar.
We are in the need of starting a campaign by all
political parties on the demand of IISER in
Bihar. I do hope all citizens of Bihar will help
in this. I do hope all MPs of Bihar will sign
over it.
I do request all PD readers to join hands with
us for this noble cause.

I agree with the concern expressed
by the Bihar Brains team. Every
state is taking appropriate measures
to bring world class educational
institutions in their locality.
Bihar has also started working on
the same path but we should try our
best to bring IISER also in Bihar.
Majority of students from Bihar go
out of state and end up in spending
more than justified money on getting
education. Apart from that we do not
have any renowned research
organization in Bihar. After
splitting of the state, ISM, BIT etc
institutes went to Jharkhand. So it
is very necessary to bring some
dignified research organization to
Bihar so that it enhances it's
capability to produce world class
researchers. I would say it is the
demand of time, I fully support this
campaign. - Sachin Suman - Mar.
