I
regularly visit your wonderful website and now I
have become a regular contributor to "Readers
Write" as well.
Recruitment is a major part of my job profile. I
have Video Conference facility in my company and
almost everyday I interview 2 or 3 candidates
from different cities in India. Recently I have
interviewed two candidates in Patna and 4 or 5
Bihari candidates in other parts of India. Their
profiles on paper are excellent. But I was
greatly disappointed when I saw and spoke to
them on video. They know their jobs, they are
adequately qualified but they lack finesse and
confidence. Even though they speak correct
English, they have a lot to do on their
pronunciation and general grooming. I am sure
hundreds of such Bihari young men have failed to
secure good jobs elsewhere just because they
have not been groomed well.
It would be quite interesting to know whether or
not in Patna or elsewhere in Bihar there are
some institutes which conduct short term classes
on Public Speaking, teach finesse, and prepare
young men to compete with outsiders.
If there are such institutes, I would request
you to print their addresses and contact details
in your website. Let us help these young men and
women to move ahead in life.
