Few days back I wrote about success of “Chetawani Rally”, now it seems “Bihar Band” call given by combined opposition against beating of journalists by dreaded criminal Anant Singh, an MLA from ruling alliance has been successful. I was always wondering why as an entrepreneur I still don’t have courage to invest in Bihar?

No, I have no problem with “Launda Nauch” nor I have any problem with Laluji’s “PURI-GHUGHNI”, I think I am scared about the safety and security of my Business in Bihar but then is it only me? I wonder why till today after so much of hype by supporters of present Government no private investor has invested even a single rupee worth naming in Bihar from outside.

When a Government with all its goodwill provides BMP security to a dreaded criminal like Anant Singh, we start doubting its priorities not only on law and order but also about everything. Here is a criminal who took hostage of NDTV journalist and was breaking the limbs and ribs of other journalists and police remained a spectator for five long hours because of what?

One thing which I never liked about Lalu-Rabri regime was their closeness with criminals like Shahabuddin but then Lalu-Rabri were never serious about investment in Bihar and if I can’t say about others then at least for me as an entrepreneur, Bihar was least of my priorities. On the other hand present government gave us hope about business opportunities in Bihar and we became excited too but when it came to actual investment we developed cold feet and we seriously started looking for what has changed in Bihar that we should take the risk of setting up something over there, after all we know for last two years present government was nursing this monster called Anant Singh, and only God knows about seriousness of this CBI enquiry.

Enquiry for what…why journalist asked Anant Singh question about his alleged involvement in a rape and murder case? Let us not forget that police were not able to do anything for five long hours. A shiver runs through my spine just by imagining that a dreaded criminal like Anant Singh, who has got BMP commandos for security has entered my business premise and police will not be able to do anything to protect me for five long hours till they have got order… in this situation as a Bihari, in Bihar I will prefer Laluji’s PURI-GHUGHNI (if that is my worth as a Bihari) and enjoy “Launda Nauch” rather than doing business.

Nitish Kumar must act heavily against Anant Singh and like him in other parties such as those in RJD and LJP and set the precedent in order to restore the confidence, if not of potential investors, than his own citizen otherwise no “Launda Nauch” and “PURI-GHUGHNI” theory will stop people from confusing his so called “Sushashan” with Lalu’s alleged “Kushashan”.

Comments:
Bihar has received 1% in investment out of several projects worth 37,000 crores cleared. If your project has been cleared, then as a possible investor, you have the power to become " Sabse Bada Bihari" just like Ambanis from Jamnagar of Gujarat.

But I got confused with PURI-GHUGHNI.

Is "Laluji's PURI not Shahabuddin and GHUGHNI Pappu, Subhash and Sadhu Yadavs in the PARLIAMENT of INDIA. If Somnath Chatterji/Hamid Ansari, Speaker of Lok Sabha/Rajya Sabha have no problems, then why do you have the same? I agree with you. but......

Are the GRAVY (ras) of GHUGHNI, the political supporters and rabble rousers irrespective of political parties, not very much responsible for scaring the investors like you in Bihar, whether it was Jagannath Mishra regime of early 1980s or Lalu-Rabri raj of 15 years; or the present Government? You should understand the pain of of those running political circus in Bihar and the need of carrying attaché of Anant Singh and his likes in political parties. Did you notice, how political leaders of all democratic parties reacted so cautiously on the judgment of Krishnaiya (IAS) murder case (forget about rickshaw-wala, thela-wala murder case) that it should not hurt the sentiments of the people of the castes murderers belong to? In fact Government was seen on his knee defending himself.

Bihar needs social revolution than game of political change and one-upmanship. Greed forms the basis of political change. Nothing has yet formed the basis of social revolution. Majority needs saintly advice and to participate in character building exercise, a social reform movement.

Brand Bihar is a social revolution. If you feel unfit as an industrialist in present circumstances, why don't you participate as only Bihari in on going social reform movement rather than settling on Lalu's preferences from LAUNDA NAUCH to PURI-GHUGHNI. Why are you waiting for forthcoming attractions of Ram Vilas Paswan as a Chief Minister and Surajbhan Singh as a Home Minister as well as Lalu's new version of "SUSHASHAN" in the form of social justice with 10% reservation for poor amongst upper castes? - Dr. Sudhir Ranjan, USA - Nov. 6, 2007

I agree with Sharmaji’s doubts and fear about investment in Bihar. But the reasons sighted are somewhat not-so-confirming. I just want to ask one question, suppose that law and order problems are solved, would there be a bulk money inflow from outside without doing feasibility studies, infrastructure, resources, land, electricity and work force. It is possible for the entrepreneurs to just invest money without having assurance about hefty returns. Bihar is neither a costal state, nor a desert one, where hefty pieces of land would be available for factories installation. The transportation cost incurred in carrying raw materials and finished materials to actual markets would be such huge that the ultimate product cost would be high. Even if everything is managed, the “CHETAWANI RALLY” and “DHAMAAKA RALLY” every fortnight would disturb the normal functioning and increase the idle cost. I know that all these issues could be solved but it would require time and money. I am not sure any entrepreneur is going to first build the infrastructure and then start production. All of them would wait for government to do that. 2 years is not enough to rebuild such a ruined state as Bihar. So, he deserves more time.

As for the media beating by MLA, that’s unfortunate. But, here I blame media more than the MLA. The electronic visual media is just running haywire for sensational news and doing all sort of bad practices to not only bring sensational news but make the news sensational. May I ask Sharmaji, Would he like the media to enter his own house without any permission at midnight just for bringing out news out of his house. Every person has a right for privacy and no one should be allowed to invade that. Its my personal experience that mediamen today are behaving like some police official and using threatening words to get pass the barriers. One more honest confession, knowing Anant Singh’s cult, if he had killed the reporter inside his house and thrown the body in Ganges, would anyone have dared to stop him. Its the kindness of the MLA of his cult, that he left the mediamen go away and make the news. Moreover, same thing has happened in Jaipur, but nobody is making a national issue. Think about media taking favour of a thief and not highlighting the poor woman vows who could have suffered financial and physical damages in process of snatching. The habit of media trials have shattered several images especially common man.

All these attacks are examples of social methods of countering media hyper – activism and biasness.

Censoring is bad, but sensationalization is worse. - Ravish Kumar, Hyderabad - Nov. 6, 2007

“Bihar is neither a costal state, nor a desert one, where hefty pieces of land would be available for factories installation. The transportation cost incurred in carrying raw materials and finished materials to actual markets would be such huge that the ultimate product cost would be high.” I can only guess from where these wonderful excuses are being planted nevertheless I firmly believe that Bihar has tremendous Business opportunities and Bihar will improve not with the effort of some Narayan Murthy from Honolulu but with the effort of Biharis whose worth has been sadly mistaken for “Puri-Ghughni”.

Sorry, Nitish Kumar does not have luxuries of Lalu Yadav. Biharis gave him mandate to undo Lalu and not to do another Lalu! Today even Lalu Yadav can’t do a Lalu. No, it is not because of a vigilant government but because people’s mood have changed and their priorities have changed.

I congratulate Nitish Kumar to read the mood of people and make development as Bihar’s central political agenda but he should not forget the rules of engagement with development as agenda. Time is running out and company with Anant Singh is a big NO-NO. Only few people can give you time and remain happy with “Bhawat Geeta” like statement “Bihar is neither a costal state, nor a desert one”-as if “Tum lekar kya aaye the aur lekar kaya jaoge”. Thrash out all criminals. Answer to biased and sensational media is not criminal Anant Singh but positive results on ground. Media can convince entrepreneurs from Honolulu about not to invest in Bihar with their lie but not a Bihari like me. Taking law in own hand is wrong, whatever may be the provocation and a wrong is a wrong! Demand for efficient and accountable police. If you don’t want a Lalu then shout from the roof top that Nitish Kumar you should feel ashamed for providing BMP for security of criminal Anant Singh.
