I am happy that the CM of Bihar has taken the right decision at the right time. In two years all the ministers did not contribute anything except long talks of reforms. Now the time has come to rapid implementation of the work so that development could be seen on surfaces. Each and every minister should keep their direct contact with the public so that their grievances are redressed properly. I have a bitter experience after repeated email to Mr. Modi before leaving the country. He did not respond properly. If this will be the situation then what can be expected with the responsible ministers? I believe and hope present ministry will do worth under the guidance of Hon'ble Chief Minister of Bihar.

Comments:
In my view, the ministry shuffles have multiple dimensions apart from the non-working attitude of the previous set of ministers as cited by the author. Some of the possible dimensions are :

1. Giving another set of people to enjoy the luxury and glory related to the ministerial positions. Thus appeasing a larger group of people which would lead to less complaints during election times.

2. Representation of other districts and areas so that these 'till now untouched' places could be given attention by local MLAs turned ministers.

3. Caste-factor cannot be ruled out.

4. Cutting down the growing cult of some of the previous ministers. The power and money available for ministers is largely used to increase the popularity and hold by the post-holders.

5. Sending the people back to roots to work with mass after sufficient money-gathering and enjoyment while letting others enjoy the fruits of hard work put in the fields.

Some of the dimension may seem ugly but politics is not all about performance, it covers other aspects also like money, appeasement, power balance and of course changes. - Ravish Kumar, Hyderabad - Apr. 18, 2008
