'Magadh University is contemplating centralized admission, examination' - a news appeared in HT, 28th Aug.08.

I am surprised when MU is not capable of maintaining its own administration properly. Why is it disturbing the normal functioning of other PG centers?

The fact is that almost all the faculties of MU campus bears under the strength of students and number of teachers are abnormally high in that respect. An impartial enquiry can reveal the facts about deterioration of academic quality and research facilities in the campus. I would like to suggest through the electronic media that campus should be given to Buddha mission and foreign language courses should be introduced to generate funds. That will act like the JNU campus here in Bihar. All the faculties or those with less strength should be merged with the other centers along with the teachers in Patna based PG centers. That will bring an all-round improvement in them.

The other subject is that the VC has talked about introduction of examination at the headquarters. This would be another disheartening point for the examinees in terms of accommodation and transportation going to Bodh Gaya (106 kms) which would be an Herculean task for them.
