I would
like to take few moments to make an appeal to
all Biharis and who feel proud to be called as
Biharis. I will take the news of Mr. Upendra
Kushwaha as an example to appeal to everyone
that please don’t fell prey to cheap and dirty
politics anymore.
I read the eviction news of Mr. Kushwaha on this
esteemed website. I don’t understand that why
and how it can send a shockwave among all
Kushwaha community. To me it is just that the
rule of the land has discharged it’s duty. Why
anyone, however influential he or she may be,
will retain the possession after the expiration
of his legal terms? Few days’ delay may be
acceptable based on humanitarian ground but not
prolonged and planned delay. We saw very similar
drama when Mr. Nitish Kumar became the Chief
Minister. Mr. Kushwaha says that he is ready to
pay the rent but government of Bihar in not in
the business of renting apartment or houses. Who
will collect the rent from these powerful
people?
My objective of this article is not to criticize
anyone but to make an honest effort to improve
the image of Bihar with the help of all Bihar
loving people. The demand of time is to stick to
the law, as this is one front where our record
is worst in the country. Several times our
co-worker portrays Bihar image as a place where
law has got no place. Most of the time news
media supported the same bad image for our
motherland. I can’t express the pain in words
when you hear or read all these news.
There is news that people will demonstrate
against the eviction of Mr. Kushwaha. I support
the idea of demonstration but not against the
eviction but to demand similar eviction for any
one else who has occupied the government
bungalow. Why to restrict this demonstration
only to such a narrow focused topic, why not
broaden the base, why not demonstrate against
other illegal activities where the current
government is not focusing?
My appeal to all the people of Bihar that this
is high time when we should forget our caste,
religion and our political affiliations. We
should only support what is legal and not only
support but mount pressure on government to
stick with rule and enforce the rule in every
walk of life. We had enough of our downtrodden
past, now let's work together for a brighter
future. If we will not amend our ways now,
history will never forgive us. Even if we don’t
care for history our future generation will
never forgive us. I am sure all of us would care
for our future
generation.
