Menace or
MNS?

The rise
and rise of MNS unruly activities is a thing of
concern. Some of the news reporting:
1. MNS targets I-T exam centre (Times of India,
page 2, 11th. August 2008, Mumbai). IT exams
cannot be conducted because there is not
sufficient Marathi representative.
2. MNS warns the cine-world. Next they are going
to say, "Make films in Marathi only". No wonder
all the big producers are shifting their base to
Delhi, Gujarat etc.)
3. All schools to have compulsory Marathi. So
people working in transferable jobs (bankers,
army personnel, professionals, etc.), be careful
- when you are transferred to Bengal, your
children will have to learn Bengali, when you go
to the South, they will have to learn Telugu,
Tamil, and Kannad; when you go to Punjab, they
will have to learn Punjabi. Forget math,
science, geography. Keep your stress buds
concentrated on languages and thank MNS when
your children grow up learning various
languages. It doesn't matter if they can't
master all of them but at least they will be
able to keep MNSes of each state happy.
What is all this and where is it going to end?
What are they trying to achieve? Recognition?
Alright. But what kind of recognition? Is it
respectful?
There are Maharashtrian families living in Patna
since three generations. They have a palace sort
of house and are highly respected in that place,
but even their 3rd generation cannot speak a
single word of the local dialect! Yet, the city
loves them and respects them.

Sandhya:
Thank you for your mail regarding
M.N.S. or MENACE. Looks like MNS is
a blatantly radical faction
emanating from the province of
Maharashtra. It is quite clear that
you are seriously concerned and
rightfully devastated to learn of
it's destructive , divisive ,
disgusting and derogatory practices
unleashed all over India.
My firm conviction and unshakable
belief is that the onus is on the
following 3 (three) segments to
eradicate and thus annihilate The
MNS once and forever!
(1) The Central (Federal) government
of India.
(2) The provincial government of
Maharashtra.
(3) The social activists like you
all across India.
All these three segments of the
government and members of the
community must come together in
putting a TOTAL STOP to this
unpatriotic nonsense tantamount to
NATIONAL SUBVERSION. These kind of
activities must be prohibited by
legislating laws and ordinances to
prevent imminent SABOTAGE of the
country of India. Failure to do so
will cause catastrophic damage to
the unity and diversity of India
that keeps this nation together.
Please pass this message on to your
various national and provincial
organizations as soon as possible
before it's too late to avert the
course of imminent CLEAR & PRESENT
DANGER to the very existence of
India as a unified nation. - Kris
