Patna Under Water

Patna may be the best town but it is the worst capital in India. Nitish probably took oath in wrong time. Monsoon came beforehand and his colleagues did nothing except giving lip service to the people and the government. Moreover, I will not hesitate in saying that the PMC commissioner Rana Awdhesh Singh gave false statements all the time and all the work started during his time was left in the midway and yet he was elevated on his post. I am surprised why the government is not punishing those persons who keep people in dark and on danger line.

Yesterday an entire family of a marriage party had to meet watery grave, what action Nitish is taking with that contractor who is responsible in ruining the entire family for three generations?

I have experience of 1975 June 5th flood. The government was so efficient that senior students of Patna University were given rubber boats and daily necessary materials (match box, candle, double breads, cakes, buns and butter etc) to distribute as per the needs of the people. I was assigned Boring Road and the North S. K. Puri area where water was up to the ventilator of the ground floor and Boring Road was about waist deep. Ecological balance was very much visible. Snake, scorpions, cattle, and human being all were in the need of shelter. One cannot imagine the gazing eyes of affluent families especially ladies on the roof of their houses. They were worried about snacks for their tiny babies. They were hesitant to accept anything but our request and our training enabled them to accept whatever we had in meager amount. I cannot forget that moment those hands always were spread to give something in normal stage but this time the situation was quite reverse. Overall scene was very pathetic. Many research scholars were doing this job since 9 AM to 5 PM with enthusiasm. Two students were given one boat with almost all necessary requirement. In the evening, all the boats used to assemble at Patna Women's College campus and next morning we would start the same routine. Sister of the institution was guiding us. This activity continued till water receded.

This should be the awareness of the government and this type of government lasts longer.
