The
experiences of mass exodus of teachers and
students were a regular feature in the past, but
the Nitish government is also acting in the same
manner. University teachers basically have not
received their salaries after December because
they have already given two months salary to the
Income Tax department and since March 2008 their
salary has not been paid. How does the
government expect dedication from the teachers?
Universities have failed to regularise the
calendar and the officers are corrupt because
they have observed this from the top. Numerous
vocational courses have been started in
different universities of Bihar but the students
are not getting quality education. Only one
percent students are getting chance to go for
higher studies from the vocational courses
because they are not giving quality education to
their students. These courses are grazing
grounds for the coordinator and the
administrator.
I have seen the universities in the US and
Canada where complete infrastructure is
available to the faculty members before starting
any faculty in the colleges. Here there is no
norms at all. Person who oscillate around the
authority barring seniority nor if quality
getting all the facilities to administer, others
who deserve and has no approach to the high ups
is sitting idle. I have enough hope with the
electronic and print media who can highlight all
these maladies in the universities and can make
purification drive in the universities of Bihar.
This would be another act to save from mass
exodus of disgrutled people and Nitish, if he is
really inclined to make radical change in
administration he should take firm decisions in
all walk of life otherwise Bihar will loose its
sanctity and faith in good governance and Vikas
will turn into Vinash rapidly.
