
Malpua (for Holi)

Ingredients:
• Plain
Flour (Maida) 2 Cups
• Baking Powder ½ tsp.
• Milk 3/4 cup
• Few strands of saffron soaked in 1 tbsp
milk
• Cardamom Powder 1/2 Tsp
• Ghee (Oil) for frying
Sugar Syrup:
• Sugar 1 Cup
• Water 1 Cup
Method:
Mix flour, baking powder, milk. Whisk to make
the mixture smooth.
Add saffron & cardamom powder.
Add more milk if needed to make it of pouring
consistency.
Cover & leave it for 2 hrs.
Add one table spoon of oil and mix. (This makes
the pua crispier)
Heat ghee (oil) for deep frying.
Pour one ladleful batter in a round shape.
Fry both sides on medium heat.
Take out.
Immediately dip them in sugar syrup.
Sugar Syrup:
Make the syrup by boiling water & sugar till
sugar has dissolved completely.
Take off the heat.
